Beginner Workout Plan for Women
Two sessions a week, full body, nothing that requires you to already know your way around a gym.
Who it’s for
For a first few months of lifting on two days a week. Both sessions cover the whole body, so two days is genuinely enough to progress — you are not leaving anything untrained. Everything runs on machines and dumbbells, which is the fastest way to train hard while the movements are still new.
How the week runs
Two full body sessions, A and B, with at least one rest day between them. Add a little weight whenever you finish every set at the top of the rep range. That single rule will carry you for months before anything more complicated is needed.
The program
All 2 sessions and 10 exercises, exactly as they arrive in the app. Rep ranges and rest are the defaults — change any of them once it is yours.

Run it without typing any of it in
This split is built into Gym Journal. Star it and it becomes your week — the app knows what today’s session is, tracks every set, and tells you when to add weight.
Frequently asked questions
Is 2 days a week enough to see results?
Yes, when both sessions are full body. Two hard full body sessions beat five half-hearted ones, and it is a schedule you can actually keep.
Will lifting weights make me bulky?
No. Building visible muscle takes years of deliberate training and eating. What you get first is strength, better posture and shape.
What if I can only use machines?
That is fine, and this plan already leans on them. Machines are the easiest way to train close to failure safely while you are learning.
