Weight Plate Calculator

Every loaded barbell is a small arithmetic problem. The plate calculator solves it from inside the set you are already logging.

What it shows you

Give it a target weight and it returns the plates for one side of the bar, working down from the heaviest plate available. It uses your bar weight and the plates you have told the app your gym actually stocks, so it never suggests a 1.25 kg plate to a gym that does not own one.

It is built into the set you are logging rather than parked in a separate tool, which is the point: the moment you need it is the moment you are standing at the rack.

Opening it

  1. Start a workout and add a barbell exercise.
  2. Tap the target weight on the set you are about to do.
  3. The plate breakdown for one side of the bar opens over the set.

It’s free, and it’s in the app

439 exercises, 40+ ready-made routines, and unlimited workout logging — no account required to start.

Frequently asked questions

Does it account for a different bar weight?

Yes. The bar weight is a setting, so a 15 kg bar, a 20 kg bar or a fixed machine all produce the right breakdown.

What if my gym is missing a plate size?

Tell the app which plates your gym has and the calculator only ever uses those. The suggestions stay loadable rather than theoretical.

Does it work in pounds?

Yes — Settings → Weight Unit switches between kg and lb, and the calculator follows.
