Strength Standards

A number on the bar means nothing on its own. The same bench is a beginner lift at 100 kg bodyweight and an excellent one at 60.

How a lift is scored

Your best estimated 1RM for a lift — Epley, from your logged sets — is divided by your bodyweight and compared against the standard for that movement. Relative strength is the only fair way to compare lifters of different sizes, and it is the reason a 60 kg lifter benching bodyweight outranks a 100 kg lifter doing the same weight.

The ratios are defined at a reference bodyweight and adjusted along a curve, so very light and very heavy lifters are not quietly advantaged by the maths.

The seven tiers

Iron, Bronze, Silver, Gold, Diamond, Titan, GOAT. The ladder is calibrated so that GOAT means genuine elite — roughly the top few percent of trained lifters — rather than a world record nobody reading this will hit.

For bench press that puts GOAT at about 2× bodyweight, Gold at 1×, and the median trained lifter around Diamond. Squat and deadlift follow the classic 3:4:5 relationship from there.

Your overall rank

Individual lifts rank on their own, and your overall badge is a weighted average of your top five distinct lifts. Compound lifts count at full weight; isolation lifts still rank but count for half, because a curl 1RM is noisy and easy to inflate.

Smith-machine and assisted variants stay unranked — they change the real load too much to compare honestly. Cardio never ranks either, since there is no 1RM to estimate; it earns XP instead. Anything the app cannot match automatically you can link to a standard yourself.

Frequently asked questions

What are the strength tiers?

Seven: Iron, Bronze, Silver, Gold, Diamond, Titan and GOAT. Your tier comes from your best estimated 1RM divided by your bodyweight, compared against the standard for that lift.

Is GOAT a world record?

No — GOAT is calibrated to genuine elite, roughly the top few percent of trained lifters, not a competition record. A 2× bodyweight bench sits at GOAT; a 1× bodyweight bench is Gold.

Why are some of my lifts unranked?

Smith-machine and assisted variants change the real load too much to compare fairly, and cardio has no estimated 1RM at all — it earns XP instead. You can link a custom exercise to a standard yourself if you want it ranked.
